Dr. Zrinka Mendas is a Visiting Professor at HELBUS where she currently teaches the unit “Research Project”. Dr. Mendas holds a lecturer position at Lord Ashcroft International Business School at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK. She has a professional doctorate (DBA) in economics from Kingston University in London. This is the first time Dr Mendas is visiting Finland and she is looking forward to see her students at HELBUS to develop.

Of her particular interest is a role of group work in learning and teaching: “A group work in the UK higher education business courses constitutes sometimes up to 50% of course work assessment and therefore makes an important part of student learning. We are preparing students for a real life work environment and team work is a central feature of it. At HELBUS, I have been impressed with such a high level of positive group dynamics amongst the student groups. They are always keen and prepared to debate, share and exchange their views about the topic and this is crucial for developing good team skills.”
