For Applicants from Finland and EU countries

Please note that if you are a non-EU citizen you will need a residence permit for the duration of your studies. Please read more here.

If you have Finnish or EU/EEA citizenship, or if you already have a residence permit in Finland for other grounds, you have come to the right page. HELBUS is a private university in Helsinki that offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business and management in partnership with the University of Northampton in the UK.

Read more about the undergraduate programme here. If you already have an undergraduate degree, find out more about our MBA here. All our programmes are delivered fully in English.

Please read more about entry requirements and how to apply to the various programmes. Applying for a study place at HELBUS is relatively easy, and the process differs from state universities in Finland. There is no entrance exam, and you can apply online throughout the year for a fall term start.

Pre-arrival checklist for Finnish/EU citizens and those NOT requiring a student residence permit:

  • Read carefully the application instructions and start filling in your application here. Here are the application deadlines.
  • After your application has been reviewed, there may be an interview over Skype or telephone, if needed. If you have fulfilled all entry requirements, we will send you by email an unconditional acceptance certificate. If you are still waiting for results, e.g. your high school diploma, you can receive a conditional acceptance certificate, which will automatically be made unconditional after you fulfil the conditions required.
  • Normally, we will also send you a confirmation fee invoice, which will allow you to confirm your study place, and which will be deducted from the first tuition fee that will be paid before the start of the studies. Please check the fees for the Bachelor’s programme here and MBA programme here.
  • The New Student Letter will be sent to you about a month before the start of your studies and will contain important information about the first few weeks of study.
