On Wednesday 18th November, HELBUS will welcome Hjallis Harkimo to speak at our Töölö campus. Renowned Finnish businessman, sportsman, and member of Parliament, Hjallis will address our current learners at the invitation of a student group formed as part of Unit 38: Business Events Management. This first-term unit requires students to plan, organise and eventually host a business-orientated event in order to demonstrate their practical skills and capabilities. For this one group in particular, being able to secure a speaker of such notoriety is a tremendous accomplishment and reflects very highly on the ambition and self-belief of the students involved.
Chairman of the Board of the Jokerit, one of Finland’s most successful ice-hockey teams (now competing in the Russian-led KHL), Hjallis is also recognisable as the face of the Finnish version of The Apprentice between 2009 and 2010, and as a competitor in the BOC Challenge yacht race, a round-the-world single-handed competition.
