HELBUS Partnerships

Over the past few years, HELBUS has forged a number of partnerships with universities abroad. Progression agreements have allowed HELBUS HND students to study their third year overseas and earn their Bachelor degree from a partner university.

In 2013, after a year of operation, HELBUS became a Pearson-accredited centre. Pearson, the largest accrediting body in the UK, awards the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business qualification to HELBUS students, and ensures a rigorous quality monitoring process. The HND is recognised in the UK as equivalent to the first two years of Bachelor’s studies, which is why our students have been able to study their third year in the UK and earn their Bachelor’s degree from UK universities.

In 2016, the University of Northampton (UoN) approved HELBUS as an institutional partner after a thorough due-diligence process. This approval allows HELBUS to deliver UoN programmes after they are approved individually through a similar process.

The University of Northampton is a UK higher education institution, with roots dating back to the 13th century, that achieved full university status and research degree awarding powers in 2005.  It is one of 45 universities that has received the prestigious Teaching Excellence Gold Award in the UK in 2017.

The collaboration started in January 2017 with a third-year Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business and Management programme, enabling students to study all of their Bachelor’s degree requirement in Finland, while receiving their degrees from a prestigious UK university. In the same year, collaboration was extended to the Master of Business Administration, which was offered in fall 2017 for the first time.
