Application deadlines

When can you apply?

You can apply to HELBUS programmes at any time of the year. We make admissions decisions throughout the year. You can apply early and indicate in your application your preferred start date.

How long does it take to find out if I have been admitted?

If you have submitted all your required documents and responded to any further queries we may have, we have the following standard times for making a decision:

  • For the first year of studies: within two weeks of submitting your application
  • For the third year of studies: within five to six weeks of submitting your application
  • For the MBA programme: within five to six weeks of submitting your application

Does HELBUS have application deadlines?

To ensure that you can get a study place and to ensure that you can start your studies at the same time as your fellow students, we do have application deadlines.

Application deadlines for Finnish and EU citizens as well as those who already have a residence permit for other reasons than study in Finland for the full duration of their studies:

  • First year of the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business and Management
    • To start your studies in January 2025, apply before 01.12.2024
    • To start your studies in September 2025, apply before 15.8.2025
  • Third year of the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business and Management
    • To start your studies in January 2025, apply before 01.12.2024
  • Master of Business Administration
    • To start your studies in January 2025, apply before 01.12.2024
    • To start your studies in May 2025, apply before 31.3.2025
    • To start your studies in September 2025, apply before 15.8.2025

What happens if I miss the deadline?

If you miss the deadline, please don’t worry. If all your application documents are in order and you are really quick in replying to any queries we may have, it may be that you can be offered a study place earlier even if you missed the deadline. Just make sure to submit your application as soon as possible and we will consider you for the next possible intake. In that case, however, we cannot guarantee entry for your desired start date.
